A Brief Interview with the
Summer Splash Camp Counselors

 

BigWig: I know you’re all really busy getting camp
ready for this year’s Summer Splash on June 24,
so thanks for being here...

 

CampWoog Drew: It’s a pleasure!

 

 

 

CampWoog Sean: No problem!

 

 

 

CampWoog Matt: You’re welcome.

 

BigWig: What do each of you do to help make
Summer Splash so successful?

 

CampWoog Drew: Most Woogies know me from
my work in the Splash Adventure Club. I visit
twice a day on weekdays during the summer
and we all have a real good time at camp!

 

CampWoog Sean: Sometimes I show up to the
club activities too because I don’t like to be left
out of all the fun, but my usual job is to think
up ideas for Summer Splash and make sure that
everything turns out great during the summer.

 

CampWoog Matt: A lot of Woogies may not know
this, but I ran the Splash Adventure Club years
ago, before CampWoog Drew. I still visit when I
can, but I prefer to keep things clean and tidy
around the Splash campground and focus on
keeping the different tents there operational.

 

BigWig: What are some of your favorite Summer
Splash activities?

 

CampWoog Drew: Definitely the trivia games in
the Splash Auditorium! Oh, and I really
like the Wigwam Contests a lot too!

 

CampWoog Sean: Trivia is super fun, but I like
the activities where the club members create
things, like Doodle Art, Pictionary, Joke Time,
and more. It’s a fun and funny time for all!

 

CampWoog Matt: Well, those are some fun
Splash Adventure Club activities, but I enjoy
the campground devices a bunch, particularly
the Photo Studio and the Reading Rewards!

 

BigWig: Will all three of you be at Summer Splash
this summer?

 

CampWoog Drew: Definitely! Join the Splash
Adventure Club and you’ll see me there almost
every day of the week!

 

 

CampWoog Sean: Yep, I’ll be there! Not as often
as CampWoog Drew maybe... I’ll show up when
you least expect it. It’s the element of surprise!

 

CampWoog Matt: Of course I’ll be at Summer
Splash, but you may not see me very often
because a lot of my work is done when no one
is around. It’s THAT top secret! Ha ha...

 

BigWig: Do you have a favorite saying that you’d
like to share with all the Woogies out there?

 

CampWoog Drew: “You rock!” and
“Don’t knock it till you try it!”

 

 

CampWoog Sean: “Never use poison ivy as toilet
paper!” That’s a good one, right?

 

 

CampWoog Matt: “A clean camp is a fun camp!”

 

BigWig: Those sayings are certainly... interesting.

BigWig’s Q&A: An Interest in Interest

Hi, Earth Agents!

I’m back this week with
another BigWig’s Q&A...

That’s when you ask me a
Question, blog readers...

... and then I give
you the Answer!

This Week’s Question:

How is my interest calculated
at the Woogi Vault?

BigWig’s Answer:

Each day you get interest based on the
amount of watts you have saved in your
account and your account type.

Allow me to explain further...

How Interest Works at the Vault

Normally, it’d be Mr. Wigwatts who could best explain
something like interest to you, but since he’s missing
right now, I’ll try and do the best that I can.

 

There are 4 types of accounts at the Woogi Vault:

Some accounts cost more than others to open, but they
have a higher interest rate, which means that you’ll get
more interest every day with those accounts.

 

Most Woogies start by opening a Bronze Account.
I’ll show how interest is calculated using that account type.

The interest rate on a Bronze Account is 1%.
1% is equal to 1/100, or 1 watt for every 100 watts.

10,000 watts x 1% = 100 watts

So if a Woogi has 10,000 watts saved in their Bronze Account,
they will earn 1% interest every day, or 100 watts a day.

 

When you open a more expensive savings account, like
the Gold Account, you’ll start earning more interest.

The interest rate on a Gold Account is 3%.
3% is equal to 3/100, or 3 watts for every 100 watts.

10,000 watts x 3% = 300 watts

So if a Woogi has 10,000 watts saved in their Gold Account, they
will earn 3% interest every day, which equals 300 watts a day.

 

Just remember to return to the Woogi Vault
and transfer your interest every day!

 

If you don’t transfer your interest every day,
Mr. Wigwatts will see to it that all those watts
end up in his personal bank account instead!

On Mother’s Day, be sure to tell her that you love her
and that you are thankful for all that she does!

What Else Can I Do For Mom on Mother’s Day?

There are lots of good ways to show your mom that you love her.
Here are some ideas, but you can think of your own too:

• Make her a Mother’s Day card 
• Bring her breakfast in bed
• Write her a poem or a story
• Give her some IOUs
• Help her clean the house
• Draw her a picture
• Make her favorite dessert
• Decorate a photo card or frame
• Make her a cereal necklace
• Write her a song
• Give her a hug and a kiss
• Or do any other good idea that you have!

One More Idea for Mom: An Origami Flower

Here’s a fun craft idea that your mother is sure to love:
Fold a pretty origami flower for her!

 

First, you’ll need to get some square-shaped paper ready.

This is easier if you have a home printer. If you do, click on one
of the two buttons above to download a file that you can print in
color or black and white and use to cut out perfect square shapes!

 

Next, click on the “Instructions” button to view or print the
instructions that will help you make an amazing folded flower!

 

 

Your mom is sure to appreciate all the hard work
you put into making such a beautiful gift for her!
